Those twins ...

I'm not really feeling the whole 'celeb turns designer' hype.
It's not that I don't think those people don't have a sense of style, or anything like that, but a fashion designer goes to school, for a very very long time and learns how to study patterns, learns how to sew and everything that comes with the job.

Other people, that happen to appear on screen from time to time, all of a sudden become a designer overnight, and sell perfume, accessories, clothes, ... the next week.

There are some exceptions though, and one of them are The Olsens. Also known as MK&A , or Mary-Kate & Ashley or fashion icons of the first hour. (and I can go on like this for a while)

Ashley put her acting career on hold, and is now completely focusing on her designing skills.

They actually have two brands: Elizabeth & James and The Row.

The Row has been there now for three years, and reviews of their latest fall 2010 show have been amazing again.
They always opt for luxurious fabrics, and are known for their classic yet very edgy cuts.

For their last show, they went for 19 looks.
All black, white & navy.
They showed us  pieces like the incredible gorgeous belted wrap coat shown here, silk jumpsuit and an oversized tuxedo jacket.

Like I said before, rare exception of the celebrity/designer group, and we're very happy with that.

Wrap it up ...

Let's go back to the time, when you were braiding your own bracelets with your brother, sister, best friend, ...
You even gave them to your new boyfriend or girlfriend. (sometimes, that's all you had to do, to win their heart.)
Oh my ... good times!

Well, let me give you some good news: they're back. (and how!)
I warn you though, they won't be that price-friendly as your home-made ones.

I've noticed them a while ago, when I was in Paris, visiting the wonderful can't-leave-this-place-without-buying-at-least-one-thing COLETTE.

Colette, also know as " paradise for high-end designer goods", brings you these lovely bracelets, thanks to brands like Vanities and Aurélie Bidermann.

Vanities is known for using vintage and torn tissues. Actually pretty cool when you think of the fact you're very pro-recycling active here.
They have tribal bone sculptured heads attached to the bracelets.
Prices start at 60 euros.

When you wanna aim a little higher, you go for Aurélie Bidermann, a jewellery designer I really admire.
She made gold-gilded chain bracelets, with a multi-colored woven thread trim. (do-brazil bracelet)
Cute little detail is the golden paperclip to close your bracelet.
Pricetag: 310 euros. (told you)

She also has cheaper ones, around 73 euros.
Here she mixes enameled charms with colored fabrics.

Janeta ...

I really don't know how many times I've seen the famous Miu Miu prints.
Editorials, covers, ads, ... they just keep on showing up.
Truly, I don't mind, they do look good.

What caught my eye though, was the amazing bathing suit with palmtree-print. Prints are hot hot hot for summer, told you that before.
The white dress with cut-outs by Gucci looks good too, with the Miu Miu satin heels.

Everything & more, set in an old hotel.

Put that in print ...

Can't avoid prints this summer.
Go global, tribal, ... as long as you go in print.
And above all, mix them all together.

Simply Carmen ...

Very nice, very pure ...
Carmen Kass by Ezra Petronio for Self Service.
Stylist: Suzanne Koller.

I love the grey sweater-dress by Mr. Wang, with leather shoulder pads.
Sportswear-style is big for summer.
So are denim pieces.

Size does matter ...

The whole controverse around models and their sizes will probably never stop.

I am happy though, that there are women like Crystal Renn, also working as a model.

Yes, she's smoking hot.
Yes, she has curves.

She's always been casted in the 'plus-size-model' category, as far as we can call this a plus-size.
But like I said before ... the arguments will never stop, and I'm really not going into that right now.
(Would be useless, since you can't argue 'bout preferences and taste)

What I am going to do, is show you Crystal ... shot by Armin Morbach for TUSH.
